Cosmax Establishes Digital Business Division... Recruits AI Experts
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Cosmax (CEO Byungman Lee), a global cosmetics research, development, and manufacturing (ODM) company, is securing future competitiveness based on digital technology.
Cosmax recently announced on the 12th that it has established a Digital Business Division and recruited President Wonhee Seol, an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and convergence industries.
President Seol has gained experience in various industrial fields with AI and platform engineering as core competencies at global sites. Until recently, he served as the head of Hyundai Motor Company's Future Innovation Technology Center, and has held positions such as Director of Platform Research at SK Telecom, Head of New Business Division, Industrial Convergence MD at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's R&D Strategic Planning Group, and visiting professor at Seoul National University Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology.
With President Seol's recruitment, Cosmax plans to lead the creation of a new ecosystem in line with the rapidly changing trend toward a consumer experience-centered market. This involves digitally connecting the cosmetics development process to build a customized platform not only for global clients but also for numerous individual influencers interested in cosmetics development.
A Cosmax official said, “We expect innovation using ICT technologies such as AI and big data centered on the Digital Business Division in the post-COVID-19 era,” adding, “Through this, we will secure competitiveness in the global market and maximize customer satisfaction.”
Additionally, Cosmax plans to combine the cosmetics research and development know-how accumulated over the past 30 years with AI technology. The strategy is to rapidly develop optimal products for segmented consumers and establish a production system capable of responding to customized cosmetics through digital technology.
