9 Million Single-Person Households Era... Increase in Small-Size Seollal Gift Sets
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] As single-person and small households increase, small-sized gift sets for Lunar New Year are also gaining popularity.
On the 12th, Lotte Mart announced that it will introduce small-sized Korean beef gift sets as well as nut sets that can be conveniently eaten anytime and anywhere. In particular, for the nut sets, the quantity has been increased by about 20% compared to last Chuseok, focusing on popular products in small packages.
First, they are launching Korean beef gift sets in small portions. Generally, livestock gift sets are composed of 500g per cut, totaling more than 3kg, but for households with two or fewer people, various cuts are offered in small portions of 200g each.
As representative products, the ‘Korean Beef One-Meal Steak Set,’ consisting of six 200g pieces each of sirloin and striploin, is offered to L.Point members at 299,000 KRW, and the ‘Korean Beef One-Meal Grilling Set,’ composed of two 200g sirloin pieces and 200g each of popular cuts such as tenderloin, striploin, skirt, and chuck flap tail, is sold at about 10% discount during the pre-order period for 199,000 KRW.
They also prepared nut sets that are portable and can be eaten regardless of place and time, selling the ‘Nuts Box 6 Types’ for 19,800 KRW. This product mixes popular nuts with premium nuts in convenient small packages, including almonds and walnuts as the base, along with dried cranberries, dates, and other varieties.
