The middle-aged generation, aged 50 to 64, accounts for one-quarter of South Korea's population, but due to the economic downturn, early retirement is accelerating and unemployment is increasing.
As a result, there is an urgent need for reemployment processes.
Accordingly, the Gyeongnam Life Second Act Center is expanding its scope to online programs tailored to the COVID-19 era, including life design programs for the middle-aged generation.
The Shin Jung-nyeon Online Campus is composed of life design, cultural lectures, Shin Jung-nyeon magazine, and expert columns, providing a rich curriculum for setting a second career path after retirement.
Kim Il-su, Director of the Job Economy Division of the province, said, "The middle-aged generation has been the driving force of our country's growth but has faced the double burden of supporting parents and raising children, making it difficult to focus on reemployment and life planning after retirement. The province has established the online campus for a successful post-retirement life before and after retirement and will continue to create support measures."
