Hyundai Motor Asan Plant Reports COVID-19 Case... Temporary Suspension of Operations
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 11th that it decided to temporarily halt the production line at its Asan plant after one employee tested positive for COVID-19.
The production stoppage will last from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM on the same day. However, the engine plant is excluded from this suspension.
The plant is conducting its own epidemiological investigation and plans to test all contacts for COVID-19. Additionally, a thorough disinfection of the movement paths within the plant will be carried out.
The employee reportedly tested positive the day after a family member was confirmed positive on the 9th.
Hyundai Motor's Asan plant also temporarily suspended the engine production line last November due to a COVID-19 infection among production workers.
