On the 8th, Gijang-gun announced that Busan City rejected the proposal to designate a public-supported private rental housing promotion district by a private developer due to opposition from Gijang-gun and Ilgwang New Town residents.
The designation procedure for a public-supported private rental housing promotion district is carried out according to the Special Act on Private Rental Housing, where the developer proposes the district designation to Busan City, and Busan City proceeds in consultation with the basic local government.
During the consultation stage, Gijang-gun expressed its opposition to the designation of the promotion district, citing concerns about damage to the natural landscape and opposition from Ilgwang New Town residents.
