Seoul Reports 191 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 10 Deaths

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] While the number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul has dropped below 200 per day again, the number of deaths increased by 10 in a single day.
As of midnight on the 8th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 191 from the previous day, bringing the total confirmed cases to 21,088.
Among the confirmed cases on that day, there were 2 additional cases related to the Dongbu Detention Center in Songpa-gu, bringing the cumulative total to 1,144. Additionally, there was 1 new confirmed case each in existing cluster infection cases: Songpa-gu facilities for the disabled (cumulative 77), Guro-gu nursing hospitals and nursing homes (cumulative 218), Yangcheon-gu nursing facility II (cumulative 42), and Jungnang-gu religious facilities (cumulative 62).
Other cases include 102 contacts of confirmed patients, 8 contacts from other cities and provinces, 5 imported cases, and 62 cases with infection routes under investigation.
There were 10 deaths reported yesterday alone, bringing the total number of deaths to 223.
So far, 12,805 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 8,060 are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
