[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 6th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that with the extension of social distancing for two weeks until 24:00 on the 17th, and the strengthening of the recommendation to refrain from gatherings of five or more people in non-metropolitan areas to a prohibition, private gatherings of five or more people due to outdoor activities are also subject to fines.
The county stated that even if it is a private gathering, gatherings of family members living in the same residence, cases where care is needed for children, elderly, or disabled persons, or gatherings of family members due to the possibility of a deathbed situation can meet even if there are five or more people.
However, gatherings of five or more people are not allowed for outdoor activities such as exercise or hiking in non-enclosed spaces.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “It is regrettable that the fatigue of the residents is accumulating due to these strengthened quarantine measures, and just as the saying goes, ‘united we die, divided we live,’ social distancing is that important,” urging active participation from the residents.
