Guro-gu Wins Top Award in Seoul City-Hosted Traffic Demand Management Evaluation
Recognition of Corporate Voluntary Traffic Reduction Efforts... Budget Secured of 1.58 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) won the 'Excellence Award' in the traffic demand management evaluation hosted by Seoul City.
As a result, it secured a budget of 1.58 billion KRW, including incentive prize money and collection grants.
This traffic demand management evaluation was conducted on the performance of 25 autonomous districts in Seoul from January to October last year, focusing on corporate traffic demand management, traffic inducement charge collection performance, focused traffic demand management, and special policies.
Guro-gu achieved consistently excellent results across all evaluation categories.
In particular, it received high marks in the corporate traffic demand management sector.
Corporate traffic demand management is a system that reduces traffic inducement charges based on voluntary traffic reduction activities such as private companies' participation in car restriction days and paid parking.
Guro-gu actively promoted the program to local companies, raising the participation rate in the corporate traffic demand management program to 99.1%.
Additionally, by encouraging the payment of traffic inducement charges, it collected 97.3% of the amount imposed last year and increased the seizure rate of overdue payments to 97.8%, contributing to increased tax revenue and tax equity.
Efforts were also made to promote shared vehicle use by deploying 59 shared cars in local parking lots.
