Ruling and Opposition Parties Agree to Handle Urgent Issues and Serious Accident Act Together on the 8th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The ruling and opposition parties have decided to hold a plenary session on the 8th to attempt the passage of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. Earlier, the emergency inquiry on the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), originally scheduled for the 7th, is also expected to take place on the morning of the 8th.
Park Seongjun, the floor spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, told reporters in the afternoon, "At the government's request, the plenary session will be held only on Friday, the 8th," adding, "The emergency inquiry will be conducted in the morning, followed by the passage of bills."

Earlier, the floor leaders of the ruling and opposition parties met at the National Assembly in the morning and tentatively agreed to conduct an emergency inquiry on COVID-19 vaccine supply and quarantine issues requested by the People Power Party during the plenary session on the 7th, and then handle the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, the Living Logistics Act, and other livelihood bills agreed upon by both parties during the plenary session on the 8th.
