[New Year's Message] Jung Ho-young, LGD President, "Let's Achieve a New Leap Through Customer Value Innovation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 5th, Jung Ho-young, President of LG Display, urged domestic and overseas employees in his New Year's address to "achieve a new leap for LG Display based on customer value innovation."
President Jung first expressed his gratitude to employees, saying, "Despite the difficult management environment last year, we were able to enter the early stages of management normalization through intense efforts."
He pointed out that the management environment remains challenging and uncertain due to increased demand volatility and intensified competition, and stated that to achieve complete management normalization and a new leap this year, the company will continue to pursue three core strategic tasks: ▲ popularization of OLED ▲ strengthening the POLED business foundation ▲ structural innovation of LCD.
President Jung emphasized, "OLED TVs must firmly establish themselves as the undisputed best TVs in the premium market and become a core business that generates stable growth and profits," adding, "To this end, we must focus the company's capabilities on strengthening differentiated competitiveness, market dominance, and profit base based on expanded capacity (production facility capacity), customers, and model lineup."
He further urged for the promotion of core strategic tasks, securing long-term competitiveness, and sustainable growth through ▲ continuous customer value innovation ▲ evolution and development of business scope and methods ▲ a young, flexible, and dynamic culture. President Jung said, "These fundamental changes will not only serve as the foundation for achieving core strategic tasks but also pave the way for LG Display's management goal of becoming the 'best display solution company.'"
President Jung also stressed, "The products, services, and business models we provide must be solutions that address not only current customer needs and pain points but also anticipated future issues," and added, "We must strengthen customer understanding based on a customer-value-first organizational culture and a deep understanding of the diverse lifestyles of end consumers."
He proposed that the company proactively identify customer needs and pain points, suggest advanced technologies and product planning, and expand collaboration from production to sales to strengthen strategic partnerships with customers. Furthermore, he suggested evolving and developing business areas by pioneering new products, applications, and new business models.
Additionally, to create a "young, flexible, and dynamic culture," he announced many upcoming changes in work methods, personnel systems, and overall organizational culture.
