Expansion of 50% Discount on Parking Fees at Incheon Port Passenger Terminal... Including Pregnant Women and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Port Authority announced on the 5th that it has expanded the eligibility for a 50% discount on parking fees at Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal and Coastal Passenger Terminal.
The authority added new eligible groups to the existing ones, which included national merit recipients, persons with disabilities, low-emission vehicles, compact cars, and multi-child families. The new additions are veterans suffering from Agent Orange aftereffects, May 18 Democratic Merit recipients, and veterans eligible for compensation.
Additionally, the criteria for multi-child families were relaxed from three children to two children (with the youngest under 15 years old) to provide discount benefits. In response to Incheon City's low birthrate measures, vehicles carrying pregnant women were also included in the discount eligibility.
Along with this, the authority registered the parking lots at Incheon Port passenger terminals as affiliated stores of the local currency 'Incheon e-eum Card,' enabling users to receive cashback and income deduction benefits.
In 2019, the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal and Coastal Passenger Terminal each served 1 million users, but due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the number of users dropped sharply last year to 50,000 and 770,000, respectively.
