Yeosu City Recruits Farmers to Participate in This Year's Rural Development Project
Applications Open Until the 29th for 9 Projects in 5 Fields
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) is recruiting farmers to participate in the 'This Year's Rural Development Project' from the 11th to the 29th of this month.
The project consists of 9 types across 5 fields, with a budget of 417 million KRW.
The eligible projects include ▲ Urban agriculture pilot project utilizing horticultural activity experts in the rural development field ▲ Youth farmer startup support project for farming succession in the talent development field ▲ Five projects in the lifestyle culture field such as the healing agriculture promotion pilot project ▲ Purchase of flower seedlings produced by farms in the flower city field ▲ Support project for farming practice experience facilities for return-to-farm and rural migration in the return-to-farm and rural migration field.
Farmers and organizations wishing to participate can check eligibility and project details through the Agricultural Counseling Center, the relevant eup/myeon/dong offices, or the Rural Development Division, and submit the required documents to the Yeosu Agricultural Technology Center Rural Development Division by the 29th.
The city will conduct on-site surveys for each project targeting the applicant farms and select the final farms next month through the Yeosu Agricultural Industry-Academic Cooperation Review.

A city official stated, “We hope for active participation from motivated farmers and others in this project, which aims to cultivate professional farmers who can proactively respond to the rapidly changing agricultural environment and create a beautiful and livable Yeosu through urban agriculture that fosters coexistence between urban and rural areas.”
