Gangbuk-gu, 2021 Model Student Awards in Good Deeds, Volunteering, and Achievement Fields
30 Outstanding Graduating Students Exemplifying Leadership, Service, and Achievement... Certificates Awarded by School from January to February
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will award certificates of commendation to students who serve as role models for their peers.
This commendation event is organized to encourage students who have overcome difficult circumstances to grow into healthy members of society. Along with the exemplary youth awards ceremony held every May in celebration of Youth Month, it is a representative commendation program for students.
The award categories include good deeds, volunteer work, and achievement. Graduating students who have demonstrated exemplary character and diligent school life or who have taken the lead in showing love for their neighbors were selected.
Each school plans to present the certificates of commendation at graduation ceremonies held between January and February.
The 30 awardees were recommended by elementary, middle, high schools, and special schools. Ten students were selected in each category. Especially in the achievement category, students who actively participated in remote classes implemented due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic were chosen.
In addition, Gangbuk-gu awarded certificates of commendation to outstanding graduates from the Gangbuk-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center. The certificates were presented to the recipients at the online non-face-to-face graduation ceremony (Haena Party) held at the Youth Support Center on the 22nd of last month. The graduation ceremony video featuring the certificate presentation can be viewed on YouTube by searching for ‘Gangbuk-gu Kkumdream’.
The district plans to continue discovering exemplary youth in various fields and steadily promote specialized educational policies to foster future talents, aiming to create a leading educational city.
