Jungjingong Hires 55 New Employees Amid COVID-19 Employment Freeze
Leading the Resolution of Youth Job Seekers' Employment Difficulties and the Creation of Public Sector Jobs
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced that it has completed the recruitment of 55 new employees in the second half of 2020 to alleviate youth employment difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and will award appointment letters on the 4th.
SBC decided to proceed with recruitment normally to revitalize the stagnant job market due to concerns about COVID-19 infection and spread, and held a recruitment announcement from September 23 to October 14 last year. Subsequently, until December, written exams and two rounds of interviews were conducted in accordance with government quarantine guidelines. In particular, for the group exams, government guidelines were strictly followed, including pre- and post-disinfection, health questionnaires, temperature checks, and maintaining a 2-meter distance between desks.
In this recruitment, SBC sought outstanding talents to respond to the post-COVID era by focusing on digital innovation, regional industry innovation, and building social safety nets. For general positions, 30 administrative staff were hired for policy research and investment management, 15 technical staff in the innovation growth sector, and 10 support staff were recruited by region and business. Especially, 15 technical staff in the innovation growth sector were hired as science and engineering experts in future new industries such as data, network, and artificial intelligence (DNA) to strengthen support for the innovative growth of small and medium ventures in the digital era.
Furthermore, SBC actively responded to the government's youth job creation policy by expanding regional talent recruitment for balanced regional development, conducting socially equitable hiring to realize social values, and implementing open recruitment without age or educational restrictions. Additionally, AI mock interview analysis results were shared with applicants who were not selected during the recruitment process to provide opportunities for self-development.
