Gwanak-gu Encourages Kind Prepayments to Support Small Businesses Affected by Social Distancing Measures
Prepaid Gift Certificates Issued Worth 100 Billion KRW, Prepayment from 100,000 to 300,000 KRW... Usable at Seoul Sarang Gift Certificate Merchants in COVID-19 Affected Sectors (Restaurants, Cafes, PC Rooms, etc.)... 10% Purchase Discount, Over 10% Benefits on Prepayment
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has encouraged residents to participate in the "Good Prepayment" of the exclusive payment vouchers called ‘Prepaid Vouchers’ for industries affected by business restrictions due to social distancing measures.
Good Prepayment refers to using ‘Prepaid Vouchers’ to pay in advance in order to support small business owners facing financial difficulties.
The ‘Prepaid Vouchers’ can be used at participating stores among Seoul Love Gift Certificate affiliated merchants, specifically in about 200,000 business locations in Seoul with restricted operations due to social distancing, including singing rooms, indoor sports facilities, restaurants and cafes, bathhouses, PC rooms, hair and beauty salons, study rooms, and study cafes that have agreed to participate in prepayment.
Academies, entertainment businesses, movie theaters, performance halls, and wedding halls are excluded. Participating prepayment stores can be found via the smartphone app ‘Z-MAP’ or the ‘Zero Pay Mobile Voucher Website’.
Consumers receive a 10% discount when purchasing the vouchers and an additional 10% benefit at participating stores during prepayment, totaling a 20% discount. The monthly purchase limit per person is 300,000 KRW, and private companies can purchase up to 10 million KRW.
The minimum prepayment amount is 100,000 KRW, and for any remaining voucher balance after payment exceeding 100,000 KRW, refunds can be requested unconditionally, excluding the discount portion from the remaining face value.
Purchasing the prepaid vouchers is the same as buying Seoul Love Gift Certificates and can be done through 15 payment apps (Beeple Zero Pay, Check Pay, Money Tree, Fint, Payco, Fink, T-money Pay, Seulbaesaeng, 010 Zero Pay, All One Bank, To You Bank, Some Bank, IM Shop Jeonbuk Bank, Gwangju Bank). However, as this is emergency financial support for affected industries, the prepayment validity period is until January 31, 2021, and the amount can be used anytime thereafter.
For more details, inquiries can be made at the Dasan Call Center and Zero Pay Customer Center. Those wishing to become participating prepayment stores can apply through the Zero Pay website and the Zero Pay merchant app.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “As everyone is going through a difficult year due to COVID-19, small business owners who form the foundation of the local economy must survive for our economy to recover.” He added, “The district will continue to spare no support for revitalizing the local economy, and I hope all residents join together in Good Prepayment to overcome this crisis.”
