The city announced on the 24th that starting from the 28th, a temporary screening clinic will be additionally installed and operated in the parking lot of Hanbat Gymnasium located in Busa-dong, Jung-gu.
The temporary screening clinic will be operated with one private medical staff member (newly hired) and support personnel from the Tuberculosis Association.
In particular, this site will support both drive-through and walk-through testing simultaneously, allowing those waiting to be tested quickly.
The city is installing the temporary screening clinic reflecting the recent nationwide rapid increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases and the signs of cluster infections and sporadic spread (transmission outbreaks) starting from specific locations in Daejeon.
Currently, Daejeon operates screening clinics simultaneously at five public health centers and nine private hospitals. However, as the number of diagnostic test subjects increases, the waiting time for tests has lengthened, causing increased inconvenience to citizens.
Accordingly, the city has hired 10 private personnel for specimen collection within the screening clinics and assigned them to each public health center's screening clinic.
