‘Goheung 8 Gyeong 9 Mi’ Renovated... Promoting Goheung Tourism
Simultaneous Maintenance of Over 90 Locations Including Promotional Boards
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do is renovating various parts of the county with the new representative attractions and delicacies, the ‘Goheung 8 Views and 9 Delicacies,’ and is launching a campaign to promote Goheung tourism.
According to Goheung-gun on the 14th, the county is conducting a major overhaul of various facilities and promotional materials such as tourist signboards and promotional sculptures that were selected in 2007 as the ‘Goheung 8 Products, 9 Delicacies, and 10 Views’ to promote the newly selected ‘Goheung 8 Views and 9 Delicacies.’
In particular, maintenance has been completed on a total of about 90 facilities including signboards installed on major roads and tourist sites in the county, welcoming tourists with a new look.
Earlier, after six rounds of multifaceted opinion gathering including surveys of residents and external tourists and expert consultations in April, the ‘Goheung 8 Views’ reflecting recent tourism trends and the appetizing Goheung delicacies ‘Goheung 9 Delicacies’ were selected.
The 8 Views include ▲Palyoung Mountain, ▲Namyeolli Sunrise, ▲Ssuk Island, ▲Naro-do Cypress Forest, ▲Geumsan Coastal Scenery, ▲Yeonhong Island, ▲Sorok Island, and ▲Jungsan Sunset, and the 9 Delicacies include ▲Nokdong Eel Soup/Grilled Eel, ▲Goheung Seasonal Korean Table d’hote, ▲Goheung Korean Beef BBQ, ▲Clam Sashimi Salad, ▲Flatfish Sashimi Salad/Braised Flatfish, ▲Sea Eel Shabu-shabu/Sashimi, ▲Gizzard Shad Sashimi/Grilled, ▲Naro-do Spanish Mackerel Sashimi/Grilled, and ▲Oysters (Pigul).
Separately from the 8 Views, scenic spots such as the Space Launch Observatory, Goheung Bay, Yeongnam Dragon Rock, Maboksan Mountain’s rocky cliffs, and Geumtap Temple’s Nutmeg Tree Forest have been designated as ‘Goheung Attractions.’ Additionally, distinctive delicacies such as Maesaengi Rice Cake Soup, New Clam Shabu-shabu, Octopus Sashimi Salad/Hot Pot, Webfoot Octopus Salad/Blanched, and Gwajeok Samgyeopsal Set Meal have been selected as ‘Goheung Specialties’ to respond to diverse tourism demands.

Meanwhile, considering the COVID-19 situation, the county plans to actively promote new non-face-to-face customized promotions and tourism product development as countermeasures for With-Corona and Post-Corona eras, including selecting non-face-to-face tourism themes and establishing a VR-based cyber tourism interpretation system.
