Gwangjin-gu Achasan and Hwayang-dong Park 'Storytelling Signboards' Installed
Installation of storytelling signboards created as webtoons about historical stories related to landmarks... Tourist information signs also installed in areas with high foot traffic
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has installed 'storytelling signboards' at Achasan History and Culture Promotion Center and Neutinamu Park in Hwayang-dong to deliver the region's historical and cultural stories in an easy and enjoyable way.
The storytelling signboards present historical stories related to the respective sites in a webtoon format, helping residents and tourists easily understand them.
First, the signboard installed at Achasan History and Culture Promotion Center contains the story of King Gaero, the 21st king of Baekje, from his ascension to the throne to his death at Achasan Fortress.
Also, the signboard installed at Neutinamu Park in Hwayang-dong, the site of the old Hwayangjeong Pavilion, includes the origin of Hwayangjeong, records about Hwayangjeong in historical texts, and the orally transmitted stories of King Danjong and Empress Myeongseong from the people.
The webtoons 'Achasan Story' and 'Hwayangjeong Story' featured on these storytelling signboards can also be viewed on the Gwangjin-gu Office website.
In addition, the district will install tourist information signboards in areas with high foot traffic to help tourists easily access local information.
The tourist information signboards are map-type and include information on nearby accommodations, public institutions, and public transportation around the current location. Installation will be completed this month at three locations: Achasan Station and Gunja Station on Line 5, and around Junggok Culture and Sports Center.
Notably, these signboards are equipped with solar concentrators that illuminate LED lights without separate power at night, allowing easy access to tourist information.
