[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) was selected as a representative cultural heritage night city of Korea in this year's 'Excellent Regional Cultural Heritage Utilization Project' hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration on the 10th.
Among the 36 cities selected for this year's cultural heritage night contest, Suncheon City was highly evaluated for operating high-quality experience programs through a reservation system by combining on-site events and online hosting, and was selected as an excellent local government along with Suwon City and Dong-gu, Gwangju.
The city first started the cultural heritage night in 2016 and was selected as an excellent local government, receiving the Cultural Heritage Administration Commissioner Award. Since then, it has held the cultural heritage night for five consecutive years in the Hyangdong Culture Street area of Suncheon City. It was also selected for next year's contest, becoming a city that hosts the cultural heritage night for six consecutive years.
The Suncheon Cultural Heritage Night, held offline at the end of October and online in early November, conducted various programs under the theme of 'Sogangnam Suncheon' that allow people to feel the history and culture of Suncheon.
In particular, programs that promote the region through lectures related to historical culture, production of comics related to cultural heritage, and cultural videos strengthened non-face-to-face content.
