The Economic Promotion Agency has taken over and been entrusted with economic sector consignment projects that were previously dispersed across various institutions, enhancing the efficiency of project implementation and serving as an integrated support institution for the regional livelihood economy to improve the residents' experience.
The main tasks are based on three strategic initiatives: job creation and improvement of workers' rights, support for revitalizing small business owners and SMEs in Gyeongnam, and support for responding to regional economic crisis issues. It supports six areas including jobs, SMEs, small business owners, export and trade support, labor policy, and economic trend analysis.
First, the 'Gyeongnam Job Comprehensive Center,' transferred from the province to the Economic Promotion Agency, conducts not only job matching consultations but also promotes events such as 'Job Matching Days' and 'Visiting Mobile Job Counseling.'
As of December, it has facilitated employment for 49,351 people in the province, with 26,142 people successfully employed.
Additionally, the Economic Promotion Agency operates an Economic Trend Analysis Center to strengthen the crisis management response capabilities of the Gyeongnam economy.
The center is expected to serve as a magnifier for the Gyeongnam economy by providing necessary information such as economic trends in Gyeongnam, industrial trends of key projects, economic conditions of major trading partner countries, and exchange rate forecasts to small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies in the province. Starting from the first half of next year, it will publish a monthly 'Gyeongnam Economy and Industry Trends Booklet.'

Kim Ki-young, Director of the Job Economy Bureau of the province, stated, “We hope that by accurately diagnosing livelihood economy issues and establishing early project implementation and systems, residents and companies will feel the changes as the 'Gyeongnam Livelihood Economy Integrated Support Platform.'
