Brain Ssok Ssok is a brain development program specialized in stimulating young children's brains through various play-based learning activities, consisting of a total of four stages. The first stage, 'Penmanship and Manipulation Skills' (issue 12), develops fine motor skills through various hand movements; the second stage, 'Activity Books' (issue 8), allows children to experience English and brain development simultaneously; and the third stage, 'Creativity and Thinking Skills' (issue 8), helps brain development through observation and problem-solving processes. Each stage is conducted with one issue per month.
The newly released fourth stage, 'Thinking Area Mathematics,' targets children aged 6 to 8 and helps them learn the basics of mathematics linked to elementary school math. It consists of a total of eight books: four basic books covering topics such as reading clocks and currency (coins), and four advanced books covering concepts like visual perception, time, volume, and weight. Kyowon Kumon explained that this program is characterized by fostering mathematical thinking skills through learning the basics of math encountered easily in daily life and applying them in learning processes.
According to Kyowon Kumon, learners improve their skills step-by-step by studying detailed areas with small-step textbooks. Concept videos explain the learning content in an easy-to-understand way to enable self-directed learning. Activity elements connected to the learning content are also added. Additionally, teacher visits are conducted to enhance learning effectiveness. At home, children place stickers on a progress checklist each time they complete an assignment, and a certificate is awarded upon completing all tasks. This is designed to help children gain a sense of achievement and motivation during the problem-solving process.
