Wonbong Donates 10 Million Won to Gimpo Welfare Foundation for Neighborly Aid
Joined the '62-Day Sharing Relay'... Donated Approximately 300 Million KRW Worth of Funds and Goods Over 11 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] Wonbong, a company specializing in eco-friendly home appliances, announced on the 3rd that it donated 10 million KRW to the Gimpo Welfare Foundation to help neighbors in need.
Wonbong attended the ‘62-Day Sharing Relay’ event hosted by the Gimpo Welfare Foundation on the 1st and delivered a donation of 10 million KRW. The event was held with a minimum number of participants, fewer than 50 people, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This donation is intended for vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities in the Gimpo area, where Wonbong’s headquarters are located. The funds will be used through the Gimpo Welfare Foundation in 2021 to support single-parent families, elderly living alone, and other neighbors in need as well as vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots.
Previously, Wonbong’s internal employees have consistently participated in helping neighbors in need within the local community by joining forces. Since 2009, through the volunteer group ‘Wonbong Neighbors Love Association,’ which was voluntarily formed by employees, they have donated support funds for underprivileged neighbors, field trip support funds, and coal briquette support funds to help those in need in the Gimpo community. Over approximately 11 years until this year, they have delivered goods and donations worth about 300 million KRW to neighbors in need.
