Appointment of Kim Jaecheon as New CEO of AK Plaza and Others

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Aekyung Group announced on the 30th that it has carried out executive personnel changes, including the appointment of new CEOs for AK Plaza and Aekyung Development.

Including the appointment of 2 new CEOs, a total of 13 executives were promoted or transferred: 2 to executive directors, 2 to managing directors, 3 selected as executives, 3 newly recruited, and 1 transferred.

Looking at the main details, ▲ Kim Jaecheon, Vice President of Jeju Air, was appointed as CEO of AK Plaza, and ▲ Song Byungho, Managing Director and Head of Jeju Air's Hotel Business Division, was promoted and transferred as CEO of Aekyung Development (also serving as AK Leisure), resulting in the appointment of 2 new CEOs.

Kim Jaecheon, the newly appointed CEO of AK Plaza, joined Aekyung Group in 2009 and is a human resources expert who has worked at AK Holdings and Jeju Air. Through this personnel change, he plans to strengthen horizontal communication with on-site employees and implant the growth DNA of the innovative business model successfully established at Jeju Air into AK Plaza to overcome crises and achieve business innovation.

Aekyung Group previously carried out CEO appointments for five major subsidiaries in May as a 'preemptive response to the post-COVID era.' This personnel change is also a continuation of the group's first-half personnel changes and aims to implement customer-oriented innovation in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era.
