Seoul Reports 153 New COVID-19 Cases by 6 PM Today... Highest Ever Recorded

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 27th that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul increased by 153 from 0:00 to 6:00 PM.
Since the first COVID-19 case was reported in Seoul in January this year, this is the highest number of confirmed cases counted over an 18-hour period in a day.
The number of confirmed cases in Seoul from 0:00 to 6:00 PM previously recorded 110 on August 18, right after the Gwanghwamun downtown rally, and 108 on August 27. This month, the numbers surged to 124 on the 19th and 140 on the 20th.
Among the newly confirmed cases on this day, 19 were classified as related to a dance training facility in Gangseo-gu. As a result, the total number of confirmed cases related to this facility among Seoul residents has risen to 150.
Additionally, there were 7 cases related to an indoor sports facility II in Jungnang-gu (cumulative 20), 6 cases linked from a high school in Dongdaemun-gu to Hongdae Saegyo Church in Mapo-gu (cumulative 95), 5 cases each related to an app small group meeting (cumulative 21) and a sauna in Songpa-gu (cumulative 16), 4 cases related to Sauna II in Seocho-gu (cumulative 60), 3 cases related to a nursing facility in Seodaemun-gu (cumulative 19), and 2 cases related to a teacher certification academy in Dongjak-gu (cumulative 46), with additional confirmed cases emerging from existing cluster infection cases.

Other cases include 43 confirmed through contact with other confirmed patients, 18 through contact with confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, 2 imported cases from overseas, and 33 cases where the infection route is still under investigation.
