The forum, held online on the Pureun Namu Foundation's YouTube channel, was organized under the subtitle 'Blue Elephant Proposes Warm Contact in the Cyber Jungle' to publicize the reality of youth cyber violence and propose prevention solutions.
In February, Samsung started the youth cyber violence prevention education project 'Blue Elephant' in cooperation with the Pureun Namu Foundation, a specialized institution for youth violence prevention, the Ministry of Education, and the Community Chest of Korea, targeting elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide, as well as teachers and parents. Five Samsung electronics affiliates including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung SDS participated.
At this forum, experts gathered to seek alternatives to solve the increasingly serious cyber violence issues caused by the spread of smart devices leading to the emergence of the Phono Sapiens generation and online school openings. The keynote speeches were delivered by An Jong-bae, president of the International Future Studies Association, and Choi Jae-boong, professor at Sungkyunkwan University and author of 'Phono Sapiens,' on the theme of 'Youth Life in the Era of Digital Civilization Transformation.'
At the pre-recorded '2020 Youth Cyber Violence Prevention Blue Elephant Forum,' youth speaker Kim Haeon is giving a lecture on the topic "Cyber Violence, a Crime That Destroys a Person's Character."

The second part, titled 'Digital New Normal, Seeking Alternatives to Solve Cyber Violence Issues,' presented solutions by experts.
The Pureun Namu Foundation also shared cyber violence prevention education content and provided time to hear voices from the field through teachers who used the content on a trial basis. Samsung Electronics' social contribution team introduced the meaning of corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects that cooperate with academia, field, companies, and government under the theme of 'The Role of Companies in Solving Social Problems and Creating Value,' as well as cyber violence prevention activities of Samsung Electronics' overseas subsidiaries.

Meanwhile, the Blue Elephant project developed educational content this year by defining youth cyber violence issues and conducting research to develop diagnostic tools. Since October this year, education has been conducted by visiting schools targeting 4 schools, 20 classes, and about 450 students in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province on a trial basis. From January next year, online education will begin targeting 7 schools, 84 classes, and about 1,870 students nationwide. 'Blue Elephant' has built a website and application so that anyone can easily participate in cyber violence prevention activities.
