The ruling and opposition lawmakers he met that day included Joo Ho-young, Floor Leader of the People Power Party; Chu Kyung-ho, People Power Party Secretary of the Special Budget and Accounts Committee; Lim Eui-ja, People Power Party Budget Committee member; and Wi Seong-gon, Democratic Party Budget Committee member.
He raised key regional issues such as the Mungyeong~Gimcheon inland railway construction and the Gumi smart industrial complex, but devoted most of his time focusing on the Yeongilman Cross-Sea Bridge construction project.
At the meeting with Floor Leader Joo, Governor Lee strongly requested, "The Yeongilman Cross-Sea Bridge is a long-standing wish of the region, and especially for the citizens suffering from the Pohang earthquake, please ensure it is reflected this time." Floor Leader Joo Ho-young responded, "I am well aware. I will do my best until the end to ensure the Yeongilman Cross-Sea Bridge is definitely realized."
Estimated to require 1.6189 trillion won, the Yeongilman Cross-Sea Bridge is a maritime bridge connecting Nam-gu and Buk-gu districts of Pohang City, linking the only disconnected section of the Donghae Expressway. Once completed, it is expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing East Coast tourism by connecting not only Gyeongbuk but also Busan, Ulsan, Gangwon, and the Seoul metropolitan area.
