KOSPI, Afternoon Gains Narrow Slightly Around 2620 Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets have maintained slight gains into the afternoon session.
On the 25th, the KOSPI opened at 2,637.34, up 19.58 points (0.75%) from the previous trading day. It rose nearly 1% in early trading, surpassing the 2,640 level, but the gains have somewhat narrowed since then. As of 1:15 PM, it stands at 2,626.90, up 9.14 points (0.35%) from the previous day.
Foreign and individual investors are leading the index rise with net purchases of 231 billion KRW and 190.1 billion KRW, respectively. Conversely, institutional investors have net sold 421.5 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion has surged more than 10%, while Hyundai Mobis, Samsung Biologics, and LG Household & Health Care are also rising. On the other hand, Samsung SDI, Kakao, and SK Hynix are declining.
The KOSDAQ index is also maintaining slight gains. It opened at 877.35, up 5.25 points (0.60%) from the previous day, and has consistently maintained gains around 0.5% during the session. As of 1:15 PM, it is at 874.16, up 2.06 points (0.24%) from the previous day.
By investor type, individual investors have net purchased 304.2 billion KRW, while institutions and foreigners have net sold 189.3 billion KRW and 87.9 billion KRW, respectively.
