[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Park Chang-won] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 25th that it will provide the ‘Jeju Youth Hope Dream Disaster Relief Fund’ to unemployed young job seekers in the province who are struggling due to COVID-19.
The ‘Jeju Youth Hope Dream Disaster Relief Fund’ is financed through a special donation from Jeju Development Corporation, and plans to support about 1,300 unemployed young people seeking jobs in the province with a third round of Jeju-type disaster relief funds totaling 650 million KRW.
The application period is from the 24th of last month until the 7th of next month, and applications can only be submitted through the Jeju Provincial Government website.
The eligibility criteria are ▲ aged 19 to 34 (born between November 24, 1985, and November 23, 2001) ▲ currently residing in Jeju Province according to resident registration as of the announcement date ▲ household income at or below 120% of the median income based on health insurance premiums ▲ graduated (or dropped out) from the last school attended ▲ unemployed young job seekers.
However, those who are employed (or self-employed), currently enrolled (or expected to graduate) at their last school, recipients of unemployment benefits (including those applying for eligibility), participants in the Employment Success Package or Youth Job-Seeking Activity Support Fund by the Ministry of Employment and Labor are excluded from support.

If the number of applicants exceeds the budget, payments will be made selectively according to priority. Priority is given in order to low-income groups (60% or less of the median income), those with a history of participating in youth self-development expenses (2020), and those with a history of participating in Hope Work or Public Work projects (2020).
