The National Tax Service selects exemplary public officials for proactive administration alternately in the policy and field sectors every quarter. This 4th selection targeted employees in the field sector who achieved proactive administrative results for taxpayers.
The selection was made through public evaluation via Gwanghwamun 1st Street and assessment by the Proactive Administration Committee. Cases that creatively handled tasks or communicated and empathized with taxpayers and colleagues to produce results received high evaluations.
As a result, Mi-hwa Hwang, a national tax investigator at Gongju Tax Office, received the grand prize. Investigator Hwang identified difficulties faced by civil petitioners in preparing the religious income payment statement and directly developed and distributed an automatic calculation program to enable quick and accurate form preparation, significantly reducing the time required for civil petitions.
The excellence awards were given to Bong-seon Song, a national tax investigator at Gwangju Regional Tax Office; In-gyu Song, a national tax investigator at Incheon Regional Tax Office; and Kang-kyung Lee, a national tax investigator at Seocho Tax Office.
The encouragement awards were given to Ho-seok Oh, a national tax investigator at Gimcheon Tax Office; In-young Choi, a national tax investigator at Dong Suwon Tax Office; Se-hyun Noh, a national tax investigator at Geumjeong Tax Office; Kwang-ja Lee, a national tax investigator at Daejeon Regional Tax Office; and Yong-chul Lee, a national tax investigator at Iksan Tax Office.
The nine exemplary public officials for proactive administration will be provided with exceptional benefits such as cash rewards, reward leave, and the highest grade of performance pay (annual salary).
Meanwhile, the award ceremony was held together with a 'Communication and Empathy Forum' connecting local offices via video to share opinions on ways to activate proactive administration with frontline employees.
This forum was held with the purpose of discovering creative ideas and practicing proactive administration through free communication.
