"Individual Performance Viewing Also Available" SKT 5GX Multiview, Upgraded to '2.0'
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] SK Telecom announced on the 23rd that it will launch ‘5GX Multi-View 2.0,’ a major update to the multi-view service of its mobile OTT service wavve, adding new features such as individual performance listening.
The biggest change in ‘5GX Multi-View 2.0’ is the addition of the 'Multi-Audio' feature, which allows users to listen only to the performance of a specific musician during a concert video.
For example, previously when watching a music broadcast of a five-member band, viewers could watch either the full screen or each musician’s view separately, but now they can select and listen only to their favorite musician’s performance.
Additionally, a new feature has been added that allows users to freely configure the screen by selecting and grouping desired multi-view screens. Up to 12 screens can be selected, enabling viewers to enjoy their preferred angles or musicians’ screens according to their taste.
Along with this, ‘5GX Multi-View 2.0’ also offers a screen zoom function that allows users to appreciate detailed playing techniques of musicians. Users can freely zoom in up to 4 times on the area they want to see.
SK Telecom expects that through the new ‘5GX Multi-View 2.0’ service, viewers will have greatly enhanced convenience in enjoying performances by being able to enlarge their favorite artists’ appearances or listen separately to specific instruments.
In particular, the multi-view service applies SKT’s proprietary technology called 'S-Tile,' enabling video or music multi-view usage without delay.
‘5GX Multi-View 2.0’ is available not only on the existing Android OS but also on iPhone iOS.
The multi-view service is currently provided free of charge. The multi-audio and split-screen selection features are available for over 350 songs on KBS Channel 1’s ‘All That Music,’ and the screen zoom feature is available for over 230 songs on KBS Channel 2’s ‘Music Bank,’ totaling more than 580 songs.
Meanwhile, SK Telecom plans to apply the multi-view feature to classical concert content in December for classical music enthusiasts.
