8 Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gyeongbuk, Spread Continues
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The spread of COVID-19 continues in Gyeongbuk as 8 more confirmed cases have been reported.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 21st, as of midnight, 7 additional cases were confirmed in Gimcheon and 1 in Pohang, bringing the total to 1,657.
On the 20th, 6 university students and 1 nurse in Gimcheon tested positive. Among them were 2 nursing students, 3 police administration students, and 1 social welfare student from Gimcheon University, as well as 1 nurse working in the inpatient ward at Gimcheon Jeil Hospital who tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier, on the 19th, 2 nursing students and 1 police administration student at Gimcheon University were confirmed positive. To prevent further spread, health authorities conducted comprehensive testing of students in the affected departments and switched all classes in those departments to online.
