Sampyo Group Shares Rice Worth 8 Million KRW with Underprivileged Neighbors in Seongbuk Jongam-dong
Sampyo Group visited the Jongam-dong Community Service Center in Seongbuk-gu on the 19th to deliver 286 bags of rice for underprivileged neighbors in the area. [Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Sampyo Group, a leading company in basic construction materials, visited the Jongam-dong Community Center in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul on the 19th and donated 286 bags of white rice (10kg each), worth approximately 8 million KRW.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Lee Ki-young, head of the Jongam-dong Community Center, Kang Jeong-ju, head of the Health and Welfare Support Team, Lim In-soon, administrative officer, Nam Yoon-sik, president of the Sampyo Volunteer Club, and officials from the Sampyo Social Contribution Team.
The donated rice was purchased from a Jongam-dong business in Seongbuk-gu to promote the local economy and will be distributed to about 200 low-income households residing in the area.
Lee Ki-young, head of the Jongam-dong Community Center, said, "We express our gratitude to Sampyo Group for taking the lead in practicing sharing for neighbors in need within the community," adding, "We will ensure that the donated rice is properly delivered so that the marginalized neighbors can have a warm winter."

Nam Yoon-sik, president of the Sampyo Volunteer Club, said, "It is unfortunate that we could not personally extend a warm hand to neighbors in more difficult situations due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic because of safety reasons," and added, "We hope to be able to carry out normal sharing activities next year."
