Big Hit Acquires KOZ Entertainment, Home to Zico
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] Big Hit Entertainment announced on the 18th that it will acquire KOZ Entertainment, the agency of hip-hop artist and producer ZICO.
KOZ is an entertainment company established in November 2018 by producer and artist ZICO. Its signed artists include ZICO and the rookie musician Dvwn, who was recruited last November.
Last year, Big Hit, which established Belift Lab with CJ ENM and acquired Source Music, is expanding its multi-label system by acquiring KOZ following Pledis Entertainment this year.
Big Hit expects that with KOZ joining, it will achieve a 'two birds with one stone' effect by expanding Big Hit Labels' artist IP and simultaneously strengthening music production capabilities.
Yoo Seunghyun, CEO of KOZ, said, "KOZ, which values the worth of artists and content and aims to innovate the music industry, shares a similar philosophy with Big Hit, which innovates the business model of the music industry," adding, "Under collaboration with Big Hit, we will focus on discovering talented artists and actively promoting global business."
