Starting Today: 2020 Blockchain Promotion Week... Shall We Explore Use Cases?
[Asia Economy Reporter Joesulgina] The Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the '2020 Blockchain Promotion Week' from the 18th to the 20th to expand public awareness of blockchain technology and allow people to experience actual use cases.
Now in its third year, Blockchain Promotion Week will be held under the theme of 'Contactless, Blockchain, Change' this year, featuring seven topics including pilot project experiences, conferences, and easy-to-understand blockchain sessions.
To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the opening ceremony and awards ceremony on the 18th will be held at COEX with a minimal number of attendees and broadcast live through Naver TV, Kakao TV, YouTube, and other platforms. At this event, the Ministry of Science and ICT will award three organizations and three individuals who contributed to the activation of the blockchain and fintech industries this year. The awards ceremony will also honor outstanding participants in related events such as the blockchain idea contest, blockchain academic conference, and fintech datathon.
Results from pilot projects and conferences can be viewed through the online website. In the virtual exhibition space set up within the online site, visitors can find introductions to 10 public-led pilot projects, 3 private-led national projects, and 1 Busan Regulatory Free Zone project, along with opportunities to experience demos through installations.
Additionally, at the conference, domestic and international experts will present ways to advance the blockchain industry by discussing ▲overseas blockchain research trends, ▲the impact of amendments to the Three Data Laws on blockchain, ▲decentralized identity verification technology and ecosystem status, and ▲analysis of global decentralized finance trends.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Science and ICT will introduce an overview of blockchain technology through domestic blockchain experts active in various fields such as information security and decentralized applications (DApps), covering topics like ▲blockchain security technology, ▲global token economy ecosystem trends, and ▲the latest decentralized applications.
