[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The prosecution investigating the 'prosecutor drinking entertainment allegations' exposed by former Star Mobility Chairman Kim Bong-hyun (46, detained) summoned and questioned lawyer A and current prosecutors, who were identified as targets of lobbying, about a month after the allegations surfaced.
The Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office's special investigation team for the prosecutor entertainment and bribery case (Team Leader Kim Rak-hyun, Head of Criminal Division 6) announced on the 17th that they questioned lawyer A and two current prosecutors on the 15th.
Based on forensic data from mobile phones seized earlier, credit card usage records, and prosecutor office entry logs, the prosecution reportedly pressed for an alibi regarding the 'room salon drinking entertainment' on July 12, 2019, which was pointed out by former Chairman Kim.
Earlier, on the 16th of last month, Kim had revealed in a letter from prison that he had provided drinking entertainment worth about 10 million won to three current prosecutors at a room salon in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in July 2019.
Lawyer A, who was present at the drinking party, introduced the prosecutors as 'junior colleagues who would later join the Lime investigation team,' and Kim claimed that one of the three prosecutors he met there actually joined the Lime investigation team.
Lawyer A and the prosecutors reportedly denied the 'room salon drinking entertainment' during the prosecution investigation. Lawyer A stated, "I sufficiently explained the entertainment date claimed by Kim Bong-hyun during the prosecution investigation."

The prosecution also conducted a search of the office and residence of one of the three current prosecutors, who was identified late among those pointed out by former Chairman Kim as targets of the entertainment, on the 6th.
