Gwangyang-si Renovates Walking Trail at Jungdong Neighborhood Park
SNNC Invests 180 Million Won to Renovate a 3,243㎡ Walking Trail
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it has newly renovated the walking trail in Jungdong Neighborhood Park.
Until now, some sections of the walking trail in Jungdong Neighborhood Park have caused inconvenience to citizens due to water pooling caused by soil and fallen leaves, deteriorated pavement, and uneven surfaces.
Accordingly, the city replaced the walking trail with C&K paving materials for easier walking, paved the unpaved areas where exercise equipment is installed, and removed sediment around the walking trail in frequently flooded areas during heavy rains.
The park is surrounded by apartments, commercial buildings, and elementary, middle, and high schools, and it has sports facilities and a children's playground inside. Through this maintenance project, people of all ages can now conveniently use the park for walking, exercising, and more in a pleasant environment.
This walking trail remodeling project is a social contribution project promoted under the mutual growth and social contribution business agreement between Gwangyang City and SNNC in June, with SNNC investing 180 million KRW over a total area of 3,243㎡.
Jung Sang-beom, Director of the Parks and Greenery Division, said, "Thanks to SNNC's interest and participation, citizens can now use the park more comfortably and conveniently," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create resting spaces and environments that improve citizens' health, recreation, and quality of life."
Lee Eun-seok, CEO of SNNC, said, "We hope that the newly renovated Jungdong Neighborhood Park will become a resting place loved by citizens and a premium park," and added, "We will continue to practice sharing with the local community."
