Government to Issue Appeal for Compliance with Quarantine Rules Amid Accelerated Spread of COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] As the number of new domestic COVID-19 cases exceeded 200 for two consecutive days, intensifying the spread, the government decided to issue an appeal urging compliance with quarantine guidelines.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) on the 15th, Park Neung-hoo, the first deputy head of the CDSCH (Minister of Health and Welfare), is scheduled to deliver a public appeal regarding the COVID-19 situation at 4:30 PM at the Government Seoul Office.
With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, Cheonan and Asan in Chungnam, Wonju in Gangwon, and Suncheon, Gwangyang, and Yeosu in Jeonnam have proactively raised their social distancing measures from level 1 to level 1.5.
