Gwangju University, Voluntary Participation of Faculty and Students in Group Blood Donation Service
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangju University recently announced on the 15th that it conducted a group blood donation volunteer event in front of the student union building in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center.
To overcome the blood supply shortage caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to practice neighborly love through sharing life and love, more than 50 people including professors, staff, and students voluntarily participated in this group blood donation.
Park Ui-taek, chairman of the Gwangju University Labor Union, said, “Amid difficulties in blood supply due to COVID-19, we prepared this group blood donation to fulfill our role as social partners growing together with our neighbors and to share their pain.”

Meanwhile, in March, Gwangju University was the first university in the Gwangju area to participate in the ‘Blood Donation Campaign to Overcome COVID-19,’ and donated blood donation certificates received from students belonging to the student council and faculty and staff to the Korean Red Cross Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center.
