Songpa-gu Hosts '2020 Kids Health Online Expo Contest' Award Ceremony...Health Habits Captured in Drawings, Photos, Videos...Over 2,000 Participants
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will hold the awards ceremony for the ‘2020 Songpa Kids Health Online Expo Contest’ on the 16th at the Songpa-gu Office auditorium.
The ‘Kids Health Expo’ is an event designed to help children develop proper eating habits and promote healthy growth.
It is the nation’s first health expo planned specifically for infants and toddlers, allowing them to easily and enjoyably learn health management methods through various experiences.
The event is conducted in collaboration with Songpa-gu and the Songpa-gu Children’s Meal Support Center.
This year, considering the COVID-19 situation, the health expo was held online on September 2nd, with side events continuing from June 1st to September 2nd.
Under the theme of ‘Healthy Eating Habits, Food, Hygiene, Exercise, Environment, Happiness,’ the following contests were held: ▲ Songpa Kids Health Drawing Contest ▲ Healthy Our Child, Capturing Happiness! Photo Contest ▲ Fun Health Play Contest ▲ Dance Video Contest with Teachers.
Over the three months, more than 2,000 infants and toddlers participated, submitting a total of 2,119 works. A total of 203 works were selected, including drawings that creatively expressed the importance of handwashing reflecting the child’s personality and photos capturing the innocent smiles of children, which won the grand prizes.
The awards ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on the 16th at the Songpa-gu Office auditorium. To prevent infectious diseases, 32 people, including children and teachers who won the highest awards in each category, will attend. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Songpa TV YouTube channel, and the winning works will be exhibited at the auditorium.
In particular, the district plans to produce about 200 winning works from the drawing and photo contests in the form of an e-book and post it on the district office website (under the electronic publications menu) for use as educational materials.
Park Seong-su, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “In the current situation where COVID-19 has become part of daily life, the importance of health management for infants and toddlers is emphasized more than ever,” adding, “We will continue to develop various projects so that children can grow up healthy and balanced in Songpa.”
