Taste Royal Court Cuisine at Gyeongbokgung Sojubang
'Foodie Delight Multiplied by Tasting Empathy' from 18 to 23

The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palace and Royal Tombs Division and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will hold the "Gourmet Times Tasting Experience" at the Sojubang in Gyeongbokgung Palace from the 18th to the 23rd. This is a traditional cultural complex experience program where participants can taste royal court cuisine. Dishes include chestnut porridge recorded in Joseon-era texts such as "Imwon Gyeongjeji" and "Sanlim Gyeongje," royal winter health food Jeonyak, Seopsansam (wild ginseng) coated in glutinous rice flour and fried, and Bingtteok made with Jeju radish and wheat flour. For dessert, there will be Hongokjeong, made by simmering apples in honey, Pyeonggang to boost immunity, and roasted sweet potatoes.
The event also features "Stories from Notable Figures" on the themes of food, history, and traditional clothing. Food columnist Park Sang-hyun (on the 19th and 22nd) will explain the dishes prepared in the Sojubang, historical writer Bang Gwang-il (on the 20th and 21st) will introduce the people who made the Sojubang dishes, and Dr. Yoon Ji-won, a specialist in Korean traditional clothing (on the 18th and 23rd), will share stories related to Joseon seasonal customs and colors.

The event operates twice daily by advance reservation. Tickets can be purchased from 2 p.m. on the 13th via Auction Ticket. Each session accommodates up to twenty participants, and the fee is 16,000 KRW per person.
