Drunk Saudi Embassy Staff Member Booked for Assaulting Police Officer
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] A foreign embassy employee who assaulted a police officer while intoxicated has been booked by the police.
Seoul Hyehwa Police Station announced on the 9th that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A, a man in his 50s working at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Korea, on charges of obstructing official duties.
Mr. A is accused of lying on the sidewalk near Gwangjang Market in Seoul at around 9:50 PM the previous day while heavily intoxicated, and assaulting and verbally abusing police officers who responded to the report and advised him to go home.
