Song Guigun, Governor of Goheung County, Puts All Efforts into Reflecting Next Year's Government Budget
Meeting with Ruling and Opposition Lawmakers... Request for Increased Budget for 14 Local Issues Projects
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung County, Jeollanam-do is putting all its efforts into securing next year's government budget through joint responses with the political sphere to realize the goals of the Goheung Future Vision 1·3·0 Plan during the 7th elected administration and to resolve major pending issues directly related to residents' lives.
According to Goheung County on the 9th, County Governor Song Gwigeun, after concluding a sisterhood agreement in Gangdong-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 5th, turned back on his way down and visited the National Assembly on the 6th, where preliminary reviews of next year's government budget by relevant standing committees were underway.
On that day, Governor Song met with local district lawmakers Kim Seungnam, Seo Samsuk, Ha Youngje, and other ruling and opposition party members to explain the urgency and necessity of increasing budget for regional pending projects that must be included in next year's government budget, actively urging them to ensure these are reflected in the budget.
He then visited the offices of lawmakers Kim Hoejae, Song Gapseok, Park Honggeun, Lee Hyeongseok, Lee Jongbae, Shin Jeonghun, Jeong Uncheon, Ryu Seonggeol, and Park Seongjung, who are members of the relevant standing committees, to seek their interest and cooperation to ensure that projects facing difficulties in securing next year's government budget are duly approved by the respective standing committees and the Special Budget and Accounts Committee.
The pending projects for which Goheung County is requesting increased reflection in next year's government budget include △ widening and expansion to 4 lanes of National Road No. 15 from Goheung to Bongnae (1.5 billion KRW) △ facility improvement of National Road No. 77 from Yeongnam to Podu in Goheung (1 billion KRW) △ eVTOL autonomous flight core technology and flight safety operability test evaluation technology development project (1.5 billion KRW) △ creation of Geumuisibi Park (100 million KRW) △ maintenance of Nokdong Port national fishing port (500 million KRW) △ Phase 2 sewage pipe maintenance project in Doyang-eup, among 14 projects totaling 30.8 billion KRW.
Governor Song Gwigeun said, “Since March, together with staff, we have been diligently working with central government departments to secure as much government budget as possible for various regional pending projects for next year, and we will do our best until the moment the National Assembly passes the budget bill.”
