The province selected 'provincial hazard zones' by reviewing city and county comprehensive plans for natural disaster reduction, conducting basic surveys, adjusting city and county hazard zones, and carrying out resident surveys. After consultations with related agencies and collecting opinions from a consultative body composed of officials from 18 cities and counties, the province completed hearing opinions from the provincial council in May.
Based on this, the public hearing was conducted with the following agenda: ▲ Overview, implementation procedures, and progress of the draft comprehensive plan for natural disaster reduction ▲ Explanation of the selection results of hazard zones by type of natural disaster and reduction measures ▲ Discussion by related experts and collection of residents' opinions on the draft comprehensive plan.
A total of 1,284 hazard zones were selected across seven disaster types including rivers, inland water, slopes, and sediment, and the total project cost required by 2030 was estimated to be approximately 3.788 trillion KRW.
The public hearing was organized to collect opinions from local residents and experts on the 'draft comprehensive plan' containing reduction measures and implementation plans. The province plans to reflect the opinions presented this time in the comprehensive plan, obtain approval from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and finalize and announce it.
