The Women Venture Startup Care Program is a program that systematically supports startup preparation through a three-step process consisting of business plan education, close coaching by senior women venture company CEOs, and market validation.
About 60 participants were selected through a contest with a competition rate of about 5:1, then 30 finalists were chosen through one month of business plan education and a competition. Afterward, the items were concretized over six months. According to the Women Venture Association, the final business plan competition was held on the 5th, where Shin Dongin, CEO of Sindyschool, Lee Sunyoung, CEO of Artins Co., Ltd., and Kim Gahyun, CEO of Penguin Lab, won the grand prize, excellence award, and merit award, respectively.
On the same day, the award ceremony for the Female University Students Startup Idea Video Contest, aimed at discovering the future generation of women ventures and supporting female university students’ technology startups, was also held.
This contest was conducted by receiving and evaluating ideas in video format, reflecting the untact trend. Over 100 items were submitted from six universities, and through evaluation by startup faculty, six teams each were selected for the encouragement award, excellence award, and highest excellence award, and one team was selected for the grand prize.
The highest excellence awards were given to Minji Lee of Invisible, Jiyoon Choi of MorningSom, Jiwon Kim of TicketTaka, Jihye Kim of Manduneun Gosoae, Minji Kim of NonContact, and Hyomin Yoo of Ilkojo, respectively. Among them, Jiyoon Choi of MorningSom, who planned a new concept alarm service, received the grand prize honor.
The grand prize winner was awarded the Korea Women Venture Association President’s Commendation along with a prize of 3 million won. The association explained that all winners will be matched with senior CEOs through the association’s Youth Future Growth Committee to provide mentoring, aiming to reduce trial and error during the startup process and increase the success rate of startups.
