Three More Members of Changwon Family Confirmed Infected... Infection Route Still 'Unclear'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Amid ongoing uncertainty about the initial infection route of the family cluster in Changwon, Gyeongnam, three new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were reported overnight.
On the 7th, Gyeongnam Province announced in a COVID-19 response briefing that three additional confirmed cases were identified as secondary or further transmissions related to the five confirmed cases within the Changwon family cluster.
A man in his 60s (Gyeongnam case 343), a man in his 30s (case 344), and a woman in her 70s (case 345), all residents of Changwon, tested positive for COVID-19.
They are n-th generation infections originating from the 50-year-old father (case 322), who is presumed to be the initial symptomatic patient and source of infection within the Changwon family.
Additionally, four overseas entrants were confirmed positive. A woman in her 40s (case 346), a man in his 70s (case 347), a woman in her 60s (case 348), and a man in his 40s (case 349), all residents of Yangsan City, were confirmed positive on the morning of the 7th and admitted to Masan Medical Center.
This family group arrived from Turkey on the 3rd and reportedly developed symptoms during quarantine. Health authorities are currently tracing contacts and movements of these n-th generation confirmed cases and the overseas entrants.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has risen to 346. Of these, 299 have recovered and been discharged, while 47 remain hospitalized.
