Goheung-gun Signs Sister City Agreement with Gangdong-gu, Seoul
Promise to Develop as a Model Case of Urban-Rural Win-Win through Mutual Exchange Promotion
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 6th, Jeonnam Goheung-gun announced that on the 5th, it signed a sisterhood agreement with Gangdong-gu at the Gangdong-gu Office in Seoul and agreed to cooperate for mutual development through exchanges between the two regions.
The signing ceremony was attended by County Governor Song Guigeun, County Council Chairman Song Younghyun, and heads of organizations related to agricultural and marine specialty products.
From Gangdong-gu, District Mayor Lee Jeonghun, Council Chairman Hwang Jooyoung, council members, and heads of social organizations participated, and especially Song Hyojong, President of the Gangdong-gu Goheung Hometown Association, along with hometown members, attended to brighten the event.
Since signing a friendship exchange agreement on July 30, the two cities have continued broad exchanges, including listing Goheung agricultural and marine specialty products at ‘Singsing Dream,’ Gangdong-gu’s local food sales center in September to revitalize agricultural and marine product distribution, and participating in the ‘Chuseok Gangdong-gu Online Direct Market.’
In his welcoming speech, Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Jeonghun said, “I consider the sisterhood with Goheung-gun, where pristine nature and advanced industries harmonize, very meaningful, and let us work together to make the two regions closely and substantively cooperative.”
County Governor Song Guigeun responded, “Based on the characteristics and strengths of the two cities, we will complement each other’s shortcomings and continue exchanges to become a model case of urban-rural coexistence.”
