Gyeongnam Province Selects Outstanding Works for 'Safety Keeper Diary Writing' Contest
Selected 24 Excellent Works in the '2020 Safety Keeper Diary Writing Contest' for 1st Grade Elementary Students
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 5th that it selected a total of 24 outstanding works as a result of the '2020 Safety Keeper Diary Writing Contest,' which was held for one month starting September 21 to cultivate children's safety awareness and establish safe living habits.
For this contest, the province produced and distributed safety keeper diaries to 29,970 first-grade students at 522 elementary schools in the province in early September. As a result of soliciting safety-themed diary entries, 357 works were submitted from 199 schools and were reviewed.
The Grand Prize (Governor's Award) was awarded to Kim Dan-woo of Jangseungpo Elementary School in Geoje, the Excellence Award (Superintendent's Award) went to Kim Sa-rang of Juseok Elementary School in Gimhae and Yoon Na-kyung of Hyeondong Elementary School in Changwon, and 21 other children received Encouragement Awards.
The winning works will be compiled into a collection of outstanding safety keeper diaries and distributed to each school to be used as materials for safety education and safety culture promotion.

Jo Hyun-guk, Director of the Safety Policy Division of the province, said, "The 'Safety Keeper Diary' included lifestyle safety rules tailored to the perspective of first-grade elementary students, enabling customized safety education for children," and added, "We hope that through this contest, children will develop safe living habits and share safety knowledge to live safely."
