Cup Ramen as a Policy Promotion Platform... CU Launches 'Hope Jullamyeon'
Support for Small and Medium Enterprises and Small Business Owners... Planned for the 'Employment Insurance Premium Support Project for Solo Self-Employed'
Scan QR Code to Access Application Website, Up to 50% Employment Insurance Premium Support for 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Convenience store cup noodles have transformed into a policy promotion platform.
BGF Retail, which operates CU, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups have launched ‘Hope Jullamyeon’ to support self-employed individuals and small business owners, and are conducting a joint campaign.
BGF Retail announced on the 4th, "Hope Jullamyeon costs only 1,000 won, and Ottogi is in charge of manufacturing, developing a popular spicy flavor ramen that Koreans prefer the most." A limited quantity of 300,000 units will be sold from the 5th at about 14,000 CU stores nationwide.
Earlier this year, CU collaborated with DB Insurance and Naver Financial to promote and sell direct auto insurance through the private brand cup noodle ‘My Car Insurance Expiry Ramen.’ This time, for the first time in the industry, they developed a dedicated product for a public interest project by a government ministry.
The container and lid packaging of Hope Jullamyeon contain useful information about the ‘Employment Insurance Premium Support Project for One-Person Self-Employed,’ which supports up to 30-50% of employment insurance premiums for up to three years for one-person self-employed individuals. Additionally, a QR code is printed so that scanning it connects directly to the application website.
The Employment Insurance Premium Support Project for One-Person Self-Employed is intended to support the livelihood stabilization and reemployment of self-employed individuals. Anyone who operates a business without employees, including self-employed and small business owners, can apply for support and receive various benefits such as unemployment benefits and vocational skill development projects.
