(Association) Jeonbuk Hanwoo Association Yeosu Branch Practices Love Through 'Hanwoo Sharing'
Donation of 111kg of Korean Beef Bulgogi (Foreleg Meat) Worth 4 Million Won to 15 Social Welfare Facilities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Hanwoo farmers in Yeosu City have stepped forward to support the health of vulnerable neighbors and marginalized groups and to practice sharing love.
According to Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong), the day before, Lee Jung-man, head of the Yeosu branch of the Korea Hanwoo Association, visited Yeosu City Hall and delivered 111 kg of Hanwoo bulgogi, packed in 39 boxes, to Mayor Kwon Oh-bong.
The donated goods were designated as in-kind contributions to the Jeonnam Community Chest of Korea and then delivered to 15 social welfare facilities, including those for children, adolescents, and people with disabilities.
Lee Jung-man said, “Every year, Hanwoo farmers pool their Hanwoo self-help funds to promote sharing events for neighbors in need, and I feel proud to be able to help various facilities again this year. I hope this will help the health of residents in social welfare facilities who find it difficult to go out due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We will strive to be the Korea Hanwoo Association that supports the health of the people.”
Mayor Kwon Oh-bong of Yeosu said, “Even in these difficult times due to COVID-19, I deeply appreciate the Yeosu branch of the Korea Hanwoo Association for their support to practice sharing love with those in need. We will deliver the donated goods, which carry the heartfelt intentions of each Hanwoo farmer, properly to the facilities.”

The Yeosu branch of the Korea Hanwoo Association has been steadily practicing sharing for growing youth and low-income groups by promoting youth taste experience events (supporting school meals for middle and high schools) and Hanwoo sharing events since 2011, funded by self-help funds prepared by Hanwoo breeding farmers.
