"Leading 5G Innovation Technology" SKT-MS-Chungbuk Technopark Join Hands
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] SK Telecom has signed a business agreement with Korea Microsoft (MS) and the Chungbuk Technopark Foundation to apply and expand 'Chungbuk 5G-based innovative technology convergence services.'
According to SK Telecom on the 2nd, this business agreement was prepared to foster experts through the application and expansion of 5G-based innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data targeting local industries. SKT plans to apply its ICT-based services such as 5G, AI, and big data to Chungbuk Technopark. 5G-based big data analysis solution 'Metatron Grandview,' AI-based manufacturing product quality diagnosis service 'Machine Vision,' and video information transmission control solution 'T Live Caster' will be provided. In addition, to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial complexes in the Chungbuk region, various ICT solutions that can be utilized on-site, such as healthcare, logistics industry robots, and video conferencing solutions, will be supported.
MS will support infrastructure environment construction using its own cloud platform 'Azure' and the development of immersive content based on 'HoloLens.' It will also promote educational projects to nurture AI and big data companies and experts within Chungcheongbuk-do.

Chungbuk Technopark will play a key role in creating a demonstration environment where innovative technologies can be applied within Chungcheongbuk-do, supporting the development and testing of innovative technologies. Song Jae-bin, Director of Chungbuk Technopark, said, "Through this cooperation, we expect Chungbuk Province to be established as a hub for innovative technologies," and added, "Chungbuk Technopark plans to continue collaborating with various innovation stakeholders." Choi Nak-hoon, Unit Head of SK Telecom, stated, "We expect this cooperation to contribute to the revitalization of the Chungbuk regional economy," and added, "We will continue to lead the expansion of 5G-based innovative technologies such as AI and big data."
